What is a Columbarium?

A columbarium is a structure which is divided into niches. A niche holds one or two urns into which cremation ashes are held in perpetuity. Names of the decedents are inscribed on memorial plaques which identify the niches.

Purpose

Boones Mill Christian Church offers to its members and their immediate families a dedicated place for the inurnment of the cremation ashes of the deceased. Cremation ashes inurned in a columbarium in the church home of the deceased emphasize the faith of Easter: “In life and in death, we belong to God.”

Eligibility

Members of the Boones Mills Christian Church and their immediate family members may reserve columbarium niches. Exceptions will be referred to the pastor and/or the columbarium committee.
